Julia Domna coin: Fabulous and accurate depiction

Julia Domna was the wife of Septimius Severus and mother to Geta and Caracalla. Part of her image was the beautiful and intricate hair style. Here is a beautiful gold coin of Julia Domna that recently sold in auction.

A Roman Empire Julia Domna, AD 193-217 Gold Aureus graded NGC Ancients MS★, 5/5 Strike and 5/5 Surface with Fine Style (lot 64) realized CHF 204,000 (about $223,800). The coin features a portrait of Julia Domna, who was Roman empress as the wife of Emperor Septimus Severus. The result far exceeded the pre-auction estimate of CHF 120,000 (about $131,600).”

This coin is a wonderful representation of Julia Domna, similar to the ancient statues and the Severan Tondo with her image:
