Viggen 95 Report post Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks to the dictatorial decrees of Caesar and the introduction of the Julian Calendar circa 45 BC, the western world has today celebrated the beginning of the year on January 1. Though those crazy Catholics tried to ban the paganistic celebrations of January 1 in the middle ages, good old Pope Gregor gave it back to us with his calendar in 1582. Just imagine how confused we would be if December was actually still the 10th month and March was the beginning of the year. At any rate, we'd like to thank all of our active members of this forum for making this a great destination for Romanophiles everywhere. Cheers and many happy returns!Vale MMXIV, Salve MMXV!
