The Pool of Siloam, found in the historical city of Jerusalem, is undergoing further excavation. Originally built during the reign of Hezekiah (715-687 BCE), it became a major gathering place for ancient Jews making religious pilgrimages to the city. The Pool of Siloam also became important to Christians as it was the place, according to the Gospel of John, where Jesus sent a “man blind from birth” to the pool for healing. Mark 9.6: The pool was destroyed and covered during the first Jewish-Roman War of (AD 66-74) The pool was rediscovered during an excavation work for a sewer in 2004.
