A friend in need....

I realize many of you out there come from very technical aviation backgrounds and for this reason I am reaching out to you to help "one of us" from this blog.

"Foggy" (Ian H) has posted these following words on his blog and I am following suit. He is looking for work in the aviation world. I did send him to my contact. It proved promising, but nothing as of yet.

Can anyone help?

The Next Chapter

I wouldn't normally consider doing anything like this, but needs must...
I had some news today and it wasn't particularly good news.  In fact, it was ******* **** news. Sorry about that.
The upshot is, I am now looking for some work... again.

If anyone knows of a requirement for a very experienced small/medium size projects ILS engineer - that's Integrated Logistic Support rather than Instrument Landing Systems, though I have been involved in an ILS ILS project - please let me know.  You can contact me by my "contact" link. I am free to work in any EU member nation, I have a UK registered limited company, and am available now.

This is an absolutely genuine request, so any inappropriate comments and/or e-mail will be treated as "spam" and will be dealt with accordingly.

Thanks for reading... and genuine leads only, please.  Thanks again...

Hi Doug! The day's leading photo is always a winner! The temporary insert in today's shot looks just like my favorite Anthropology professor, though far trimmer . The pix are great fun and thanks. I'm sure that all regular readers are symathetic to regular poster Foggy (Ian's) situation. Aviators or not, we've all been there a time or two. I can offer this: Talent quickly finds a comfortable home! Foggy will find a home worthy of his talents and in short order. (Anyone who writes with his exeptional grace is one tobe valued in any industry.) Best wishes to all, -Craig.

As to when...soon I hope!

Wow... Thanks Doug!

Thanks also to Craig, Anon and Dave W, who posted a comment on my blog; also "G".

I'll let you know how things go.

Thanks also for posting the pic; don't know who the guy in the yellow shirt was, but we spent a while passing the time of day and discussing how to put the world to right...

Cheers...

Foggy: Just know that you are not standing alone out there. You have friends, many that you will never meet. SOme of have been there, perhaps some not - but we know.. When you least expect it, that ideal connection will pop up. Best wishes and please keep your friends posted. -Craig.
Now returning you to our regular program, already in progress...

Mr. Foggy....I don't know you very well....somewhat from your blog site.......but my impression is, your a man of Integrity, who is also Understated, and when Fear lurks, not too proud to say so!!!!!!!

Every single one of has been there.......

I say...."challenges","Obstacles" will get in your way........hit them head on....!!!!

almost like you have to get so Pissed off at them, that any fear or weakness you may feel....free's up the mind, and I believe that answers and opportunities can then show themselves....

for me...I find....at times....It's ME....that is the Challenge or the obstacle....

just a few of my thoughts...

there are many hands...though not seen or felt are here and there to help you up!!!!

...I believe these things...!!!!!
Good Luck, and your opportunities will come....

Hey Julie,

A favicon is a little icon for your web-browser. It might just be me that I see it for the first time but I have this website bookmarked and short-linked in my browser. Do you see a little image next to the bar where you type an adress in your internet program? That's a favicon :)

It's just a little image :)

Bas. Re: Favicon.

I was snooping around my blog and found the prompt for a "favicon."

I figured it out and made one. (I too hadn't a clue what it was)

At first I didn't think it worked and then when you queried about it, sure enough it was there. :)

Bas. Re: Our A330 in Toronto

Saw some pictures. Looks like they didn't manoeuvre too well while taxiing for runway 06 left.
"Delta" taxiway has WIP (Work in Progress) i.e construction so our usual departure runway 06R was only used for taxiing. This may have been one of the issues. I know when I blasted off for Montreal yesterday I said to my F/O, "I haven't taken off this runway in a long time." That A330 is a big bird so you have to oversteer on the taxiway.

When in Montreal we entered the ramp only to be told to return to ground to reenter from another taxiway. This required a TIGHT 270 degree turn. The F/O rose out of his seat as we neared some taxi-lights.

We looked back and everything was intact. Phew. :))))))))
